Terms of Use — Guru Mantras

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Viraj Mokadam, an individual developer based in Singapore ("we", "us"), for the Guru Mantras mobile application ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the App.

1. What Guru Mantras Is (and Is Not)

Guru Mantras is a spiritual wellness app. It offers Vedic astrology-inspired guidance, meditation and mantra practice, yoga and lifestyle content, therapeutic music, and an AI guide ("GuruDev") — all intended for personal reflection, contemplation, and general wellbeing.

The App is not a medical device and its content is not medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Astrology content is offered for contemplation and as part of a cultural tradition — it is not a prediction of real-world outcomes and should not be relied on to make important decisions. Always consult a qualified professional for health, mental-health, financial, or other significant concerns.

2. AI-Generated Content

Parts of the App — including GuruDev chat, daily readings, reports, and tips — are generated by artificial intelligence. AI content can be inaccurate, incomplete, or a poor fit for your situation, even when it sounds confident. Treat it as a starting point for your own reflection, use your own judgment, and do not rely on it as fact or professional advice.

3. Your Account

You can sign in with an email address and password, or with Google or Apple sign-in, to back up your data and restore it on another device.
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Please give us accurate information.
You may delete your account and data at any time in the App (Settings → Privacy & Account → Delete my account & data) or by emailing us (Section 10). Deletion is irreversible.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction).

4. Subscriptions — Guru Mantras Premium

Some features are part of Guru Mantras Premium, an auto-renewing subscription:

Billing: subscriptions are billed through Google Play (or the App Store on iOS), not by us directly. Prices and plan lengths are shown in the App before you purchase.
Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
Managing or cancelling: open Google Play → Subscriptions (or on iOS, Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions). Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Free-access period: the App gives you free access to premium features for 40 days from first launch. When it ends, the App's core features remain free; premium features then require a subscription. We may change what is included in the free tier or in Premium over time.
Refunds: payments are handled by Google Play or the App Store, and refunds are governed by their policies. We do not offer refunds ourselves except where the store's policy or applicable law requires it.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the App, you agree not to:

use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that harms others;
abuse the AI chat — for example flooding it with automated requests, attempting to make it produce harmful or unlawful content, or trying to extract our prompts, keys, or systems;
reverse engineer, decompile, copy, resell, or redistribute the App or its content, or interfere with its servers and security;
use another person's account without permission.

We may suspend or end access that seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules.

6. Intellectual Property

The App — its design, code, curated content banks, mantras and teaching texts as compiled and presented, synthesized and curated music, and AI-generated material — belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App for your own private, non-commercial use. Your own content stays yours: anything you type into the App (journal entries, reflections, chat messages, profile details) remains your own; we use it only to run the App's features for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services to work: Google and Apple sign-in, Google Firebase (accounts, cloud backup, secure server functions), AI providers that generate guidance content, and a content network that streams the music library. Your use of those services through the App is also subject to their own terms. How your data flows through them is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

We work hard to make the App reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — we do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or that its content (including astrology and AI content) will be accurate or suit your needs.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the App, and our total liability to you for all claims is capped at the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim arose (or, if you paid nothing, SGD 50). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and nothing limits any consumer rights you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, a notice in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law & Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
